Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology is stepping into Silver jubilee year and it continues to function as a pioneering Research institute in the field of Ecology and Environment to address various needs and issues in drylands and other areas as a whole.
On the significant occasion of 25th Anniversary of this Institution, we are organizing an One day National Conference on “Plastics in the Environment: Current status and Rethinking the Future of Plastics” on 7th March 2020 at Bhuj. As you are aware that Plastics in Macro, Micro and Nano forms have become a major concern in terms of environmental pollution, not only in India but on a global scale as well and it is observed as a major threat to both terrestrial and marine environment. Keeping this in mind, we are organizing this event.
It is imperative that the Academicians, Scientists and Managers acting at the interface of such issues are to be brought to a platform in order to discuss and deliberate the latest developments in management of plastic wastes and to find an alternative for such wastes. Hence, this conference intends to invite Academicians, Scientists, Managers and Decision makers from all over the country to deliberate on the issues and to come out with concrete recommendation to further the management of plastic wastes in terrestrial and marine environment in a sustainable manner.
Further, through such disucssions and deliberations during the conference will really build awareness for all of us in general and the outcomes derived at the end of the day will be useful in managing the plastic wastes.
