The Supreme Lord renounced the Ayodhya empire, only to live a simple life in the forests of Ancient India. He engaged the animals of the jungle, the monkeys, bears and elephants, in fighting Ravana and rescuing Sita Devi. His return to Ayodhya is celebrated as Divali.
