Electrochemical Effluent Treatment Plant

Electrochemical waste water treatment plant is:

1. Simple to operate

2. No chemicals are added.

3. Operates on clean electric power

4. Occupies less space

5. No sludge formation

6. Zero-discharge of effluent

  • Dear Mr.Marimuthu,

The treatment plant presently you are operating is it Electro coagulation or Electro oxidation?. If it is Electro oxidation ,I would like to know the operation cost per one meter cube of wastewater with a COD of 30,000 mg/L and TDS 1,50,000 mg/L. presently I am operation Electro oxidation treatment plant for above mentioned wastewater but we are getting huge operation cost. as per your posting I came to know that you are getting less opearation cost. If you are intrested I would like to discuss with you.

  • thanx sir , i hv one more question.........

    what is MBR and TDS?

  • Dear Mr Reddy,

It does not generate eddy current & it is not as expensive as that of MBR. The process is attractive in both performance and the cost. In zero liquid discharge plant, it generates profit from TDS present in the effluent. TDS is converted to either hypo or acid & alkali depending on the TDS constituents.

  • Dear Mr. Marimuthu,

Electrochemistry is a branch of Chemistry. Anyways i can understand that your system uses electrodes to transfer electricity across the effluent, which should be well shielded for eddy currents. It should be as costly as an MBR. am i correct?

  • Dear Mr Reddy

The process is electrochemical not electrical & chemical. The technology uses clean electrical energy in the form D.C. current and it is passed across the  effluent stream. It is a continuous process and does not require large storage tanks or sensitive microbes.

  • Dear Dr Marimuthu,

Could you please give a typical influent and effluent compositions? Also the mass balance and water balance. Water happens to water, if ZD is achived?

  • I Hope the above image is of Arun Electro Chemical Systems, Chennai. All ETP Processes as of today uses both Electrical and Chemical Energies depending on stages of treatment, so are called Electo Chemical Treatment Processes.
  • Hi Dr. G.Marimuthu.

Can you please let me know the cost of treating one cubic meter by this technology. You need not be exact , an approximation is also fine.  Also few questiosn more,

    What COD/BOD can it handle?

    Upto what TDS is OK?

    Any effcet on colour?

    How about odour control?

You can email your answers on tejas@organicabiotech.com

  • Pl. put a write up on the same , for better understanding. No doubt it sounds good.
  • Dear sir i would like to know more about this technology in terms of Efficiency, capital cost,O&M cost etc.
