NEW DELHI: Delhi is the most polluted city in the world when it comes to air quality, according to a WHO study released today. See Times of India News:  http://bit.ly/1jfntIf

This can become another topic for "Delhi" or "India" bashing, but as environment professionals let us instead come up with "actions" that can make this city breathable again!

  • You are lucky again. You might have Pinky's post. You can publish in that journals.

    Seems you have some innovative ideas. Then you must participate in the MIT Climate CoLab contest 2014. Then not only the nation, the world will know your ideas. It's wonderful platform and you also get feedback on sharpening your ideas.

    Good luck!

    Hi Mr.Srikanth, i have various issues to write on from afforestation to plastic in food industry. I can even put in the time to do the research, i also have a plan. What i need to know is where to post it? A blog wont have that reach which i am expecting. I want the nation to know about it. There will be some journal in which i can publish right?

    @Jaideep & @Dilip : Thank you.

    Rohit. Why don't you participate in the MIT Climate CoLab contest?

    I suggest you to write blogs and publish them on linkedin. May I know in which areas (energy, water and climate change etc..) you would like to publish journals.

    All the best!

    @Srikanth , It is indeed a coincidence. Well, the way i look at it, like minds think alike! Can anyone tell me about journals published in India related to environmental activities, new research, new frontiers? I wold like to publish myself. There are a lot of things i want to write about as a student.

  • I don't actually Like this. but yeah... :P

  • Dr. Deeksha.

    Appreciate your idea to promote public transport.  Advanced countries like Denmark, people use bicycles for commuting. Technology is taking giant leaps to make the electric vehicles affordable and efficient. Being an optimist, I see more innovations in transportation technologies.

    The situation is alarming for the capital of the country which claims to be the economic super power in the years to come. The best solution would lie in increasing the efficiency of the public transport system so that the private individual vehicles cease to exist and their share in air pollution can be minimized.

    Growing indoor plants, switching to clean energy sources and educating the younger generation will also help in this regard.

  • Hi Rohit,

    Nice sharing. I watched this TED talk and was thinking to share before I saw your weblink. Gr8 co-incidence. :-)

    What surprises me is despite using CNG as fuel and metro.. Delhi has worst pollution. As per the observations, last year air pollution in Mumbai was doubled. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mumbai/Air-pollution-in-Mum...

    I believe increasing the awareness to use these plants is one of the cost-effective ways to reduce the indoor air pollution.  Regarding outdoor air pollution, I hope the next government would act on this fifth largest killer in India "Air Pollution".
