  • Looks like Aphids infestation on Emblica officinalis.
Closer look can reveal dense colony of tiny insects of round and soft body.
Aphids can be black, brown, green, pink or almost every colour. They suck plant sap and rapidly shed skin. Plant may wilt or overcome infestation and attend normal growth. But major problem arises when they transmit diseases. Posterior side bears a pair of tiny cornicles which excrete sugary liquid or honeydew attracts ants. The liquid spread on leaf surface makes shinny and promotes growth of sooty black molds.
Naturally small birds, even house sparrow prey on them.
But release of predator bugs like Ladybug or Ladybird beetle (Hippodamia convergens), Aphid Midge (Aphidoletes ), Syrphids, can prey on Aphids. These bugs are commercially available (for sale) in Western countries.

    Biopesticides
NIMAZOL, NeemAzal, Bel leaf extract (Aegle marmelos) can be tried.
