Sponge Iron plants are highly air polluting plants. This type of industry is allowed only in Asian countries especially in India.What are its alternative and how it can be converted into less polluting is challenge of today. We should discuss on this issue.

Dear Sir, when I was in ISM, I was working on Ferrocoke production which will be used as a substitute of blast furnace feed if successful because blast furnace is the only best alternative of sponge iron plant. we are using sponge iron plant because of low grade of iron ore. and as per my view if we design small blast furnace for low grade iron ore, we can reduce the air pollution compared to sponge iron plant.
