Indian Environment Network to Indian Environment Market

The twenty first century has been breaking climate records every year .. 2014, 2015 and 2016 were the three warmest years ever recorded .. 2017 is potentially going to be warmer than those… We noted two continuous years of El Nino and consequent draught in India in 2014 and 2015 .. In 2017, even without El Nino, in March we noted severe rainfall in NE India, snowfall in the Himalayas and one of the warmest March in Peninsular mainland .. though the average rains in the first two months have been normal in India (with some rain records broken in Western India) this has been an unusually active monsoon in Asia .. we are also currently noticing 8 cyclones simultaneously developing in the Pacific .. the Arctic is melting at a much faster pace than ever .. the Antarctica, for the first time in human history, showed development of green moss ..

The climate change is absolutely for real .. this doesn’t mean a warmer temperature always, this means increasing climate uncertainty .. this means that our climate prediction models will not find it easy to keep up with the reality in mid term (+ 30 days period) .. not doomsday yet, and hopefully it will never be, even though Stephen Hawking has already cautioned us .. but as a society, we must brace for this .. this is going to seriously impact our agriculture production, our water security, our livelihood, our governmental and business plans .. and all this will be at a cost ..
