Dear everyone,I am looking for some basic reports (latest survey reports/research papers, if any) on solid waste generation from human population (Municipal/rural), agricultural waste (per crop type) and livestock waste(per livestock type). I request the experts to kindly throw light.thanks & regards,Bhavna
We are actually taking up case studies to understand the present status and further scope in solid waste management for Andhra Pradesh. Impact analysis for the expected increase in future solid waste loads is aimed at. We actually need to analyse the actual trends and can not rely on thumb rules. Most of the data published by PCBs or other agencies is outdated and drastic changes in solid waste generation have been reported in many areas and MSW generation is directly proportional to income.
However, MSW is much researched, but how about the waste management from other sources like service sector, agriculture etc. (excluding hazardous and bio medical wastes) Kindly comment, if anybody is into such research.
Here I given one blog link of SWM in India and the status of treatment. This blog was prepared by one research student and it may be helpful for you...
Dr.Srinivas, Head Environmental sciences of GITAM, Visakhapatnam worked on solid waste generation and management of Visakhapatnam and you can contact him
