  • Dear Shishir,

Rainwater harvesting besides roadside is a great idea. But, I have a major reservation considering the inert dust and possible contamination of oil, oil soaked materials. Many times, we find some hazardous materials disposed on road sides. So, please find a reasonably high quality technology.

    All the very best.

    Sincerely,
    Sanjay Mishra

  • Yes. It is part of stormwater management for quality and quantity. No guideline is available in the country for BMP for road runoff. I have been using US county guidelines incorporating local climate and land data for clients having large project sites. The BMP structures include detention structures and constructed vegetated swales.
