Rain Water Harvesting

water is one of the most precious natural resource of our mother earth. During this monsoon we have to harvest the rain water so as not to deplete our ground water table. Many people are unaware of this. can we all together bring a awareness camp in the villages atlease spending one to two days in a month apart from our routine work atmosphere.

If any one can join this mission, i will be very thankfull. if not also i request them to educate their neighbours atleast

  • Wasn't it during the jayalalitha reign that they brought out the rainwater harvest scheme, (i'm not sure)?

Thanks to that we installed a tank that collects rainwater, and we use it for drinking, i know harvested water is supposed to go to the ground but we were suffering from water shortage.

Today a full tank lasts us up to six months!

I am ready to help (If it is within Chennai, i can help remotely and do my job here with a team too), ( I have Sundays alone left but i can use it in such a purpose)

We can get together if lots of people (Even 5-10 will do) sign up!

Sunita Narain talks about the same opportunity. Rain water harvesting is easy, sensible and practical -especially so in Monsoon laden India!
