I have completed my M.Sc. (Pollution control) from Sikkim Manipal University under distance education Plan. Now wish to do PhD in the related field but confused as how to go about it and how I get a good Guide while working.

Please check the university/institutes web pages for the eligibility criteria. Nowadays, as per UGC guidelines, most of the universities are conducting admission test/interviews. Moreover, some the institutes like CSIR is asking for CSIR/UGC NET or SLET in the particular subject as a basic qualifying criteria. So, check your suitability for getting the admission. There may be several definitions for "Good Supervisor" so check what exactly you want. Good Luck
