Recent WHO reports indicates that 12 of the Indian cities have worst air pollution.
Here, I think EC would have taken the tough measure that nominations would be accepted only with clear manifestos from the parties and candidates. This would have lead the parties to realise that at least they need to do some real work for better India. It would have given an opportunity for us to make them enact on those (green) manifestos.
The manifesto of all the political parties reflects total lack of visionary ideas on environmental issues. Solution to current environmental crisis requires meticulous planning and should begin at the micro level first. The political parties must realize that the environmental concerns should be above self political interests and whoever forms the government must take it very seriously for the healthy survival of human beings on this planet.
