  • You should refer to the Basel convention on Control of Transboundary movement of hazardous waste. It describes conditions under which the export can be permitted. There are stringent requirements for notice, consent and tracking for movement of wastes across national boundaries. The Convention places a general prohibition on the exportation or importation of wastes between Parties and non-Parties. The exception to this rule is where the waste is subject to another treaty that does not take away from the Basel Convention. The United States is a notable non-Party to the Convention and has a number of such agreements for allowing the shipping of hazardous wastes to Basel Party countries.
  • Dear Manish, HW (M&H) rule 1989 and after it get amended in 2008 and published in Guzztee 2009/MoEF. For its handling and management you may refer www.ramky.com (a Hyderabad based organization; they are operating more than 20 TSDF in India). For transportation; the above rule defined that you can not (EXPORT/IMPORT) travel/logisticate the HW from a state to state. But in USEPA it is permitted to transport/logisticate the HW under continental countries. I feel you will satisfy to feel the above information for any doubt you may contact on aloksingh84@gmail.com.

    Thanks
