Long back while working at Shell, I had published a technical paper “Low Salinity Water Flooding to Enhance Oil Recovery from Oil Reservoirs”. Low salinity water flooding is a novel, advance and eco-friendly method to enhance oil recovery from oil reservoirs. Core flow tests and single well chemical tracer tests have shown that low salinity water flooding can improve the hydrocarbon recovery efficiency by upto 38%.
