works atthe landscape scale with focus on conservation, among others,
oftigers, elephants and rhinos in the Terai, Sunderbans, Central

WWF-Indiais looking for an exceptionally resourceful individual with
acommitment to support the Species Conservation Programme in managing
theCapacity Building initiative at the Corbett Wildlife Training
Centre(CWTC) at Kalagarh, Uttarakhand. This is a joint initiative of
WWFIndia and the Uttarakhand Forest Department. The project aims to
institutionalisewildlife conservation and protection training for
front-line staff,through the CWTC.
Job responsibilities involve:
• Leadingand coordinating the implementation of WWF-India’s capacity
buildingproject in CWTC, Kalagarh, Uttarakhand.
• Developing a strategy toinstitutionalise the training program on
wildlife conservation andprotection measures through the CWTC, aimed
at Forest Dept. and otherenforcement agencies’ personnel.
• Coordinating with theDirector-CWTC, Kalagarh, Director-Corbett
Tiger Reserve and otherrelevant Officers of the Uttarakhand as well
as Uttar Pradesh ForestDepartments and other Government agencies for
smooth implementationof the project.
• Providing assistance to the WWF teams in TeraiArc Landscape (TAL) –
Uttarakhand for execution of programmaticactivities as and when

• Coordinating with the WWF-India’s landscape coordinators for
implementationof various capacity building requirements in the
differentlandscapes.
• Responsible for all financial targets set in theCWTC capacity
building project contract and any other specificprojects that the
incumbent will be involved with.
• Maintaining a healthy working relationship with the local
authoritiesincluding the different departments of the state
government ofUttarakhand, and other enforcement forces, local NGOs,
CBOs and otherinstitutions.
• Providing written quarterly updates on progressof different
projects against a pre-designed work plan and update onthe fund
situation (income and expenses) to the Secretariat,WWF-India.
• Communicating the process and conservationachievements to the
Secretariat on a regular basis.
• AssistingWWF-India’s landscape teams to plan, fund-raise, and
implementcapacity building programs for front-line staff of Forest
Dept. andother agencies for wildlife conservation and monitoring.
Pre-requisitesfor the position include:
1. Ph.D. / M.Sc. in WildlifeConservation/ Ecology/ Sociology or related field;
2. Minimumthree years experience in training of different government
departmentsfor wildlife conservation, protection, governance and
relatedissues.
Desired skills:
• Experience in working in theGovernment and NGO sector, especially
on capacity building issueswould be desirable
• Excellent communication skills (written,oral and presentation)
Location: Corbett Wildlife TrainingCentre, Kalagarh, Uttarakhand.
The salary and benefits will becommensurate with the candidates
experience and academic backgroundand the overall WWF-India salary
