towards theconservation of critical landscapes and species across the

).One of the key landscapes that we have been focusing on for over
sevenyears is the Satpuda Maikal Landscape which covers critical
wildlifehabitats across the states of MP, Maharashtra and
Chhattisgarh. Thiscentral Indian landscape forms the core of our
tiger conservationwork and we interact closely with the government,
other NGOs andlocal communities to manage critical corridors, promote
sustainablelivelihoods, mitigate human wildlife conflicts, conduct
monitoringand research on key species and undertake policy/advocacy.

Weare looking for a committed and experienced individual with strong
leadershipskills to coordinate our work in this important landscape.
TheLandscape Coordinator will be responsible for managing the field
teamsand coordinating all aspects of the conservation programme in
thelandscape, in close coordination with colleagues from the
WWF-IndiaSecretariat in New Delhi.

Location:
The position can be basedin a major town or city in or near the
landscape (e.g. Nagpur,Jabalpur) and this is negotiable. The work
will involve extensivetravel within and outside the landscape in the
states mentioned inPara 1 above.

Key Responsibilities involve:
•    Providingleadership to the team in the implementation of the
conservationprogramme in the landscape.
•    Helping to develop strategies andprogrammes with a view to improve
tiger conservation in thelandscape.
•    Collaborating and networking with NGOs, individualsand government
agencies, particularly the Forest Department asrequired towards
enhancing conservation outcomes.
•    Keeping atrack on policy and development issues relating to
conservation ofthe landscape and work with the team in New Delhi in
undertakingpolicy advocacy at state and national levels.
•    Assisting theAssociate Director in the Species and Landscapes
Programme in keepingtrack of programmatic and budgetary time-lines
and reporting.
•   Managing field level financial and programmatic reporting and ensure
thatthese are submitted in time.

Prerequisites for the positioninclude:
1.    Post Graduate (in social, environmental, forestry,wildlife
sciences) with at least ten years work experience in arelated field.
2.    Proven experience in project management with theability to deliver
results under tight deadlines and challengingcircumstances.
3.    Strong leadership skills and proven experiencein managing teams.
4.    Ability to work with the team and withmultiple stakeholders.

Desired Skills:
•    Willingness towork in the field and to travel both within and
outside thelandscape.
•    Sound knowledge of environmental, wildlife andforestry conservation
and community related issues.
•    Excellentcommunication, presentation and writing skills.

The salary andbenefits will be competitive and commensurate with the
candidatesexperience and academic background and the overall
WWF-India salarystructure. WWF-India does not provide housing,
