Engage Research Fellows at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of theMinistry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India inthe field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes toengage eight (08) research fellows [01-ResearchAssociate, 05-Junior Research Fellows and 02-Technical Assistants]through a Walk-in-Interview on Friday, 30thJuly 2010. The details of the available position along withessential and desirable qualifications, terms and conditions and howto apply are given below.

General  
  1. Candidate forthe position of Research Associate (RA-I) should be below 40 years of age as on 25thJuly 2010 and the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 yearsfor candidates belonging to SC/ST. For the position of JRF/TA, the age shall not bemore than 28 years as on 25th July 2010. Upper age limit maybe relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging toSC/ST/OBC/Women/physically handicapped categories.

  2. Selectedcandidate for the position of Research Associate (RA-I)will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 16,000/-per month and selected candidate for the position of JuniorResearch Fellow will be paid a consolidated emoluments of Rs.12,000/- per month. The fellowship amount for the selectedTechnical Assistant is Rs. 9,600/-consolidated per month. 

  3. Selected candidates may be allowed hostel accommodation at the institute, as peravailability. Where the hostel accommodation is not possible, houserent allowance (HRA) will be paid as per the rules of the Institutesubject to the condition that HRA payable, in no case, shall be morethan the rates payable to Central Govt./WII Employee(s) in thatarea. Other allowances and benefits to the research personnel wouldbe admissible as per the rules of the Institute, amended from timeto time.

  4. Engagement on the above positions will be purely on a temporary basis initially and may be extended forfurther period depending upon the requirement and the tenure ofproject/cell.

  5. The selection of the candidates will be based on Walk-in-Interview to be held on Friday,30th July 2010 at the Wildlife Institute ofIndia, Dehra Dun. The registration of candidateswill begin by 09:00 A.M. onwards.

  6. Canvassing inany form is liable to rejection of the candidature.

  7. Candidatesshould bring the duly filled-in applications with attested truecopies of testimonials of educational qualifications, researchexperience, extra curricular activities, date of birth etc., alongwith copies of mark sheets of all examinations. Alloriginal documents should be produced at the time of registration.

  8. Applications without enclosures and/or incomplete in any respect shall be liable to rejection. 

  9. One way travel expenses will be paid to the selected candidate, upon joining theInstitute and producing the proof of journey ‘tickets’. The expensewill be limited to actual 2nd class rail/bus fare by theshortest route to Dehra Dun from his/her place of stay/residence.

  10. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.

  11. The applicationform can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in.

  12. The Director, WII reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incompleteinformation provided by the candidate or for any other reason.
