Tankari is small annual shrub that grows near paddy fields. Its sweet and sour fruit is edible and popular but rarely sold commercially. The plant has many medicinal virtues. The virues are discussed in attached article. The plant is victime of modern agriculture. Before it is extinc let us try to save it.

Yes it is good piece of information. We used to taste this fruit in child hood but the parents forbade us to do on account of lack of awareness
In Bengali it is known as Tepari. Fruit is sweet and sour, usully sold on footpath or way side, but never in regular fruit shops.
