STARS International Pilot

STARS is Sustainability Tracking, Analysis, and Reporting System - a project of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Due to growing interest at the international level, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) is implementing a pilot program to welcome higher education institutions worldwide to participate in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™ (STARS) Program. STARS® was launched by AASHE in January 2010 after several years of research and development by the higher education and sustainability communities in the U.S. and Canada. The STARS International Pilot (pdf) is an opportunity for institutions located outside the U.S. and Canada to participate in STARS and publicly document their efforts related to sustainability. The pilot will also provide an opportunity for international institutions to share feedback and make suggestions for improvements to the system. The results of the pilot will help determine the eventual role of STARS in a global context.

Consider talking to your college/ university about this venture. Indian schools deserve to begin claiming sustainability opportunities such as this one with AASHE. More information available at:
