We invite applications for a one-year research scholarship in the topic of: ‘Evaluation of aquatic insect diversity in natural water-filled tree holes and their artificial analogues, in a tropical forest of Western Ghats’.
The project is sanctioned through ATREE (Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment) by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF), Arlington, an initiative of Conservation International, U.S.A.
The study will be carried out in close collaboration with Ph D holders working at the WRCT and the Department of Zoology, MES Mampad College. The work is cross-disciplinary with close collaborations with the different entomology departments in India.
Qualifications for the research fellowship are MSc in Zoology (with entomology specialization) or closely related discipline, and good understanding in insect taxonomy and ecology. The applicant needs to have a willingness to work in difficult field conditions.
