Check the RFP from USAID on forestry Projects in India.

"The United States Agency for International Development in India (USAID/India) intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for their new sustainable landscapes/forestry program titled Partnership for Land Use Science (FOREST-PLUS). The solicitation may be released towards the latter half of October 2011.During a five year performance period, the contract will help accelerate Indias transition to a low emissions economy by taking REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) actions to scale. This will be achieved by working on two components- design of tools and methodologies and their deployment at scale. Working in close collaboration with the Government of Indias Ministry of Environment and Forests, local governments and the local communities, the Forest-PLUS contract will create an enabling environment and strengthen capacity for REDD+ implementation in India. The contract will assist in - developing and deploying scientific tools and methods for improved ecosystem management and carbon sequestration, forest carbon inventory and reference baselines; designing modalities/ programs for providing better incentives to forest-dependent communities for promoting REDD+ activities ; addressing sectorial barriers; and enhancing human and institutional capacity. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the availability of funds.
