POST DOCTORATECLIMATE CHANGEUNIVERSITY OF SAO PAULOBRAZILWe are inviting foreign researchers to apply for Post-Doctorate scholarships in the research program “Socio-Economic Impacts of Climate Change in Brazil: quantitative inputs for the design of public policies (2008/58107-7)”, funded by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).The terms of reference for the research Project can be accessed at www.nesa.org.br, following the links “Projetos” and then “Projeto Temático sobre Mudanças Climáticas [FAPESP].” The candidates are also recommended to consult the pages of project member professors at http://www.fea.usp.br/, following the link “Pessoas” and then “Docentes da FEA-USP”. The name of the professors are: Ricardo Abramovay (coordinator), Jacques Marcovitch, Carlos Roberto Azzoni, José Eli da Veiga, Joaquim Guilhoto, Eduardo Haddad and Danilo Igliori. João Paulo Cândia Veiga is also researcher of the project (http://www.fflch.usp.br/dcp/html/joaopaulo.html).The link between the Project and “Rede Clima” must also be highlighted (http://www.inpe.br/noticias/noticia.php?Cod_Noticia=1420).The application must be in relation with one of these three research areas:a) Socioeconomic and regional impacts of climate change in Brazil;b) Transition towards low carbon economy and societyc) Rural development and climate changeThe scholarship will cover the plane tickets (to arrive and then leave Brazil once the research is concluded), support for installation in São Paulo and monthly remuneration of R$ 5.028,90 net.The Post Doctorate rules can be accessed at http://www.fapesp.br/materia/5389.The applications must be designed for a research schedule of six (at least) to twelve months (at most).
