The World Environment Day ( June 5, 2012) is near. I am sure each and everyone of you and your organization must be planning something unique. Do let us know what you are planning so that we can give adequate publicity to your effort. ( and even have some IEN members attend!).
But why not do it together??
IEN has grown to be a vast network in itself with 3500 members (all environment professionals!) coming from 1500+ environment organizations. I think it's time for us to meet in person on the "World Environment Day" and renew our pledge to create the best structure to establish the environment industry in India and take care of our business and career needs.
Can you and your organization sponsor a "IEN Meet" for our members in a central place like Delhi. If your institution comes forward to donate space for the meet or sponsor our meet we can certainly come together, network, showcase your business, activities and work and get tips to enhance our career and training needs. I plan to fly down to Delhi in the first week of June.
So, let us know if you all are interested to meet together on June 5th ( World Environment Day) or a convenient weekend. Would any of you or your organization wish to pitch their company, consultancy or business to us on that day or may be willing to speak on a topic dear to all IEN members on that day. Would your educational institution and your students like to learn about career opportunities in environment sector from Professionals in the field. We will showcase all such interactions on IEN and make you a star!
Brainstorm and come up with your ideas and how you or your organization can donate to our cause so that we can meet together in Person. The one who can donate space for us to meet will be our PLATINUM SPONSOR for a year and will be acknowledged as such with limitless advertisement opportunities on IEN. We will also provide free advertisement opportunity on IEN for every sponsor who come forward for this Meet-up and every professional selected to lead and train us during this meet.
Anyway, start brainstorming. Share your ideas here on how we can fund this and make that day or possible Meet-up memorable. Also reply, if you can possibly join this meet-up.

I think at first meet it should be first on state level. Every state member will arrange this meet first, then communicate with other state members on this day.
The programme on this day should decide by your team.
It will togather each member year by year.
Hope it is just idea for the initiate.

There is Problem in our Institution as there is a vacation....Can I Make arrange in Bangalore........ if Possible i will inform u dis in my next mail
I THINK we need to see some alternative as well apart from institutions, as all the engineering institutions will be having holidays or least they will be busy with their semester end exams.
i work as a Professor and i had this problem every year, JUNE 5 falls in vacation. let us discuss this problem in our network and decide few alternatives.
what i do is, using JANUARY 1st, new year, i use this new year day and educate the students regarding the environmental issues and will have a campaign with the students, displaying problems and solutions with the help of clip boards, power point presentations, hoardings, banners etc,
even i display a pledge notice and ask the students, faculty and the management to sign and take the oath, surprisingly i get a spectacular response.
