IEN Members,

When we talk about BIG things like climate change, attend BIG conferences and try to solve big environmental problems with or without big data somehow my heart is never in it. Good that so many BIG people are trying to solve BIG problems. More power to them...

As ordinary environmental professionals and environmental entrepreneurs like you and me who are the key to bringing environmental change, there are just five crucial questions to ask?

Who is my customer?

What is his problem?

What is the better solution to the problem?

Is their buy-in from the stakeholders for the solution?

What are the roadblocks in implementing the solution and are you able to solve them?

Let's forget about big problems for a moment and let's hear from you about the various environmental projects and research work that you are trying to implement in the field. Are they really worth it? Can they scale? We want to hear from you about your failures and your success.

We will be happy to interview you live on the internet if you ask, save it on YouTube, create an online guide and bring attention to your great work that you are doing in the field. So, here is your chance to to get started and present your work in front of members of 2000+ organizations on Indian Environment Network. Don't be an anonymous contributor whose work dies with him. Your work is the most noble work that you can possibly do while living on this beautiful planet. Share it!

Reply to this thread or write a  blog on www.paryavaran.com announcing the projects that you are doing or did earlier and answer the above 5 questions about your projects. We are here to find the gems and stories of hard work that takes place at the grassroots. It does not matter if the projects were a failure or a success...

All the best

    Hi IEN members,

IEN is quite an interesting network and the kind of awareness it spreads bears significant importance. Water is at the forefront of all the current and potential problems, and due to climate change it is inevitable that we need to manage the most important resource. We, at CLIMsystems, New Zealand are associated with one of the largest water based projects planned for the Bengaluru Metropolitan region and have been instrumental in providing vital data to a large number of projects carried out across all continents in association with the likes of IMF, ADB, World Bank and others.

in regard to the above questions, a short document is attached herein. For more information, I invite to visit our websites - www.extendweather.com and www.climsystems.com.

Wishing you all the very best.

    Hi IEN Team...

Great that you are inviting members to share their environmental entrepreneurship experiences and qualities....we too would like to share and create an awareness about emerging and unique technologies...by also responding to the 5 queries....

    Who is my customer?

Entire globe could be our customer as water problem is universal...

    What is his problem?

shortage of drinking water, treatment of waste water, industrial effluent from diverse industries for safe discharge, stringent protocol by environmental protection agencies / pollution control boards

What is the better solution to the problem?

while conventional treatment methods are time tested and valued, due to various factors they have become redundant...hence it is high time modern methods are looked up and given an opportunity for performance purely based on merits...

Is their buy-in from the stakeholders for the solution?

What are the roadblocks in implementing the solution and are you able to solve them?

lack of knowledge, courage to change, pre-qualification, as water is non revenue many agencies are uninterested...political will, seriousness in environment etc....

modern methods have proved that solutions are available to solve issues....imagine washing 2000 buses, bogies of trains daily mindlessly drawing water from borehole depriving humanity drinking water there by creating shortage... why only rain harvesting..WHY NOT SEWAGE HARVESTING 24 X 7...which simply is being drained and spoiling water bodies like ponds, lakes, rivers etc...WATER BUNKS could be created along side nala's to recover and treat sewage to potable standards for non potable uses like vehicle washing, flushing, construction, agriculture, landscape sprinkle. bore hole recharge..well the list is endless....

As regards our small bit on PRIYAVARAN we request look up www.noxxall.com and also the attachment....

    regards
