PETA India is looking for an exceptionally motivated candidate to fill the post of chief functionary. The candidate should be Indian and vegan (or at least vegetarian) and should have adequate knowledge of animal rights issues in India. The candidate must be a graduate from a reputed institution and must have at least eight to 10 years of management experience. He or she must be personable and able to interact with people from all spheres of life.
Candidates must have media experience, superior communication skills, and the ability to represent the organisation in India and internationally. He or she must also be capable of overseeing and steering business operations, campaigns, animal protection legislation, and public education and awareness projects.
Candidates must have good English writing skills and must read and write Hindi fluently. The successful candidate will have a dynamic personality, meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to animal rights issues and the ability to help PETA achieve its goals.

Administrative
Oversee and ensure the quality of the following:
Purchases
Office upkeep
Administrative staff
Vendor negotiations and approvals
Travel-related issues, including obtaining the best value for the money
Inventory of audiovisual equipment, costumes, stationery, printed material and T-shirts
Campaigns
Oversee the following:
Demos, from conceptualisation until completion
Media approach and follow-up
Preparation of agendas for different campaigns
Ensuring compliance with agendas
Investigations
Industry reports
Working with other groups (national and international)
Assisting and liaising with other activists/groups
Archiving of campaign-related correspondence, videos and photographs
Human Resources
Oversee the following:
All employee-related interactions
New employee selection
Staff interaction (to keep them motivated and focused)
Ensuring human resources policy is being followed and all employee records are maintained

Oversee and enforce the following issues:
Daily bookkeeping
Monthly bank reconciliations

Ensure internal bookkeeping (MOM, AGM, etc)

Oversee, with the help of legal advisors, the following:
Court cases
Follow-up and interaction with government at the centre, state and municipal levels
Looking over leases and other legal documents

Oversee the following:
News releases
Letters to the editor

Ensuring a positive public presence for PETA India
Seizing every opportunity to advance PETA India's position
Celebrity and VIP
Cultivation, meetings and follow-up
Photo-shoot arrangements
Youth
Oversee PETA's youth department, petaDishoom
Affiliates
Ensure compliance with PETA US affiliate SOPs where applicable
Keep the founder or her designees regularly updated on all matters of importance
Work with PETA affiliates on campaigns where applicable
Fundraising
Cultivate, interact and maintain good relations with donors
Ensure all fundraising and direct mailers are in compliance with country requirements/work
Work with the PETA Foundation's fundraising department to draft proposals
Other
Oversee and approve all correspondence
Ensure timely and courteous responses to information e-mails, letters, and telephone calls
Ensure all animal emergency calls are attended to, at all times of day and night, without delay
Personally attend to all celebrity and VIP animal emergency calls
Be available for emergencies, media, and staff 24 hours a day
Obtain and review weekly reports from all departments
Weekly reporting to the founder
Pitch in where needed, no matter how small or menial the job may seem
In case of redundancy or illness, do whatever is necessary
Keep India directors updated on achievements
Report to the founder and director of PETA India directly
Set and ensure compliance with SOPs
