WWF-India, the country’s largest environmental conservation NGO with a National branch network invites applications for the position of Programme Officer- Centre for Environmental Law. 

The Centre for Environmental Law (CEL) was established in 1993 as an integral part of the World Wide Fund for Nature – India (WWF-India). Apart from handling and furthering WWF-India's conservation work involving policy analysis, campaigning and legal interventions on environmental issues, CEL serves as a resource centre for teaching environmental law and research in national, regional and international contexts. To implement its programmes CEL is building functional and professional linkages with Universities, Institutions, government agencies and non-governmental organizations at national and global levels. 

Prerequisites for the position include:
  • Five years law degree with high grades, preferably participated in environment moot courts or completed internship assignments with organizations working on Environment Conservation.
  • Two years experience is desirable in the field of Environment. 
  • Should have willingness to work on Environmental Law and Policy. 
  • Good communication and drafting skills in English
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment efficiently
  • Ability to work independently as well a in team 
  • Ability to adapt well with large teams and sensitive to cultural and political issues

Duties & Responsibilities:
The candidate will be working with CEL and will perform all the activities as under: 
  • Coordinate with partnering institutions/organizations on research projects
  • Conduct research on curriculum of PG Diploma in Environmental Law
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, workshops, lectures and other activities related to programme 
  • Maintain regular contacts with students enrolling in PG Diploma courses
  • Coordinate with experts, resource persons working in the field of environmental law and policy
  • Perform other duties as required 

The position is based at WWF-India Secretariat, New Delhi.

Remuneration will be competitive with Indian NGO pay scales and will depend upon candidate’s experience levels and the overall WWF-India salary structure. WWF-India does not provide housing, telephone or vehicle facilities.
