Background:
Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is looking for a Field Officer/Assistant Field Officer for its project in Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar.
Job Responsibilities:
Point person for the specific field and on-site implementation of the project
Execute eco-development initiatives
Scientific monitoring of the initiative
Network with local NGOs, relevant Government Departments
Report writing, day to day documentation
Skills:
In-depth knowledge and experience in participatory conservation, eco-development and alternative livelihood
Experience in conducting PRA and in preparing micro-plans
Good understanding of community dynamics and ability to think fast
Good at carrying out surveys, organising group meetings and documentation
Excellent communication skills, specially with rural communities
Fluency in Hindi
Qualifications:
Post-graduate in a social science discipline such as social work, rural management, anthropology, sociology, political science, human geography or equivalent.
Experience:
2-3 years in a similar position, preferably in Bihar, or in any tiger reserve.
