The EHS+ Center is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Program Officer in development of an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS+) Center in India. The Program Coordinator will work with the local partner/s to implement program related activities. This EHS+ Center will train Indian factory managers in environment, health and safety, energy and carbon management, and related topics.

Employer Description:

The India EHS+ Center is the fourth developed by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC), following the successful launch of two Centers in China, and one in Bangladesh. The Centers together make up the EHS+ Network, a multi-country partnership designed to support advancement in the EHS profession.

Located in Pune, Maharashtra, the India EHS+ Center is housed within Symbiosis International University’s renowned Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB). The Center offers world class trainings on various EHS topics that address everything from the basic fundamentals of EHS to niche topics specific to particular industries. The courses taught at the India EHS+ Center are developed by local experts. They include courses adapted from the successful training materials developed by ISC’s EHS+ Network, as well as custom courses developed in partnership with local companies and global brands. All courses are tailored to meet the needs of Indian factories and industries.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the partner relationship with the academic institution and development of the EHS+ Center creating a well-functioning training enterprise with strong operational systems.
2. Support the EHS+ Center located at Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune with coordinating and streamlining training assignments and activities, those prioritized under the EHS program
3. Oversees and contributes to the development of the EHS+ Center into a well-functioning training enterprise with strong operational systems. 
4. Develop work plans, training calendar and progress reports as required by EHS+ Center, ISC, donors and other partners.
5. Prepare monitoring and evaluation templates in coordination with ISC. 
6. Create a database of factories for industry sectors identified for potential engagement, and coordinate distribution/dissemination of Training Calendar to factories, industries and industry associations. 
7. Collect monitoring and evaluation data (from trainings and events) of EHS+ Center.
8. Compilation and analysis of pre and post training learning by trainees
9. Conduct post training interviews of trainees (within 45-60 days of completion of training)
10. Promotion of Training Programs and coordination of meetings with clients as well as potential contact base on relevant platforms (e.g., industry associations, authorities etc.)
11. Establish and maintain relationship with local agencies, institutions, experts and other potential local partners.
12. Update EHS+ Center digital platform (website) with Training Calendar and events
13. Document Case studies on changes /measures adopted by factories as well as trainees 
14. Participation in baseline study for EHS+ Center projects

Desired Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate should have a Graduate or Post-Graduate qualification in environmental science, or Environment, Health, and Safety or both, or in engineering with MBA degree, can also apply. Excellent communication and marketing skills required. Strong English language ability, both written and spoken is essential.
