Job Responsibilities:
Field work for estimation of tiger and prey population densities using capture-recapture and distance sampling methodologies.
Other conservation action related work in project site.
Working closely with concerned Forest department staff.
Design and analysis of field based studies.
Report writing.
Skills:
Familiarity with sign surveys for carnivores and vegetation sampling.
Candidates should be familiar with theory of sampling, population estimation and basic statistics.
Familiarity with GIS and population estimation software such as MARK, CAPTURE, PRESENCE etc.
Good written communication in English.
Qualifications:
Graduate / Post-graduate in wildlife sciences / wildlife biology / biological sciences. A candidate interested in pursuing his / her doctoral work on tigers / tiger conservation in the landscape will be preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years of field experience.
