Current Environmental certifications in India

IEN Members,

What are the current environmental certifications that are currently recognized or your clients value in different environmental sectors in India? eg. NABET certification, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 etc.

Do let us know the field and the certification that is most valued in your environmental work. Also, it would be good to know the certification body from which you took this certification. Let's compile a great List!

    ISO 50001 Energy management system

    ISO 14064 GHG Accounting Standards

    ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard

    The first two are slowly gaining prominence in the market as they not only build the green image but also reduce their energy costs.

    We are starting American Academy of Environmental Engineers Certifications in India http://www.aaees.org

    BCEE and BCEM

    Exams will be offered in India.

    For information -

    (1) The International Spill Accreditation Association (ISAA) is involved in the assessment and award of accredited status to oil spill contractors who meet the required standards

    (2) The International Spill Accreditation Association (ISAA) has recently launched an accreditation scheme for qualifying providers of INLAND oil spill response training courses.

    (3) The Nautical Institute (NI) is the internationally recognised authority for Accreditation of Marine Oil Spill Response training courses.

    (4) International Spill Control Organization offers Professional Recognition for Individuals who are professionally involved in oil spill response related activities

    certification should be specialized for each sector and then in totality

    Green Building certified professional, LEED certification, Sustainability certification

    We do not have a chartered engineering system for environmental people

    EIA consultant organisations are accredited by NABET, QCI.
