It would be really helpful if anybody can guide me the obligation for getting consent for disposal of sewage in a labor camp. I am talking for labor camp in bihar related to road works. Total labor in the camp can be assumed to be on an average (250*135)/1000=33.75 m3/day=33.75*360=12,250 m3/yr.

  • It is common practice to apply for amendment in CTE. Pls apply for amendment in CTE and before commission of STP or any diacharge take CTO too
  • that's an error. It should have been mentioned.

Now, u may apply for modification, the same way

Meanwhile, u may hand over ur effluents to a nearby CETP & keep the records of agreements,

    Dear Sir,

Thanks for replying but we only have consent to establish for various construction plants like HMP and WMM  but there is no mentioning of labor camp or sewage in that.

  • Dear Mr. Karmvir,

the discharge per day from your Labor camp is 33.75m3. This sewage to be treated and reused for ground water recharge or gardening. You can apply to state pollution control board for the consent. Before that you have to finalise your treatment scheme.

Since it is temporary camp , you can go for Anaerobic treatment (DEWAT) followed by tertiary treatment of Filtration & ozonization. This equipment can be later shifted to your new camp if required.

This treatment scheme requires minimum maintenance and power consumption. Can be operated only in day time.
