Climate adaptation specialist

Chemonics seeks a climate adaptation specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded project focused on sustainable forests and climate change mitigation in India. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Specialist will support reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation as well as enhanced sequestration, through afforestation, conservation, and sustainable management of forests.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in environment, natural resource management, or climate change-related area in science, agriculture, urban planning, or sustainable development
Minimum 10 years of professional experience working on climate change adaptation or disaster risk reduction projects in at-risk regions focused on water issues, agroforestry, natural resources, coastal zones, or urban planning
Proven experience leveraging synergies with other USAID activities or those of other development partners to design and implement activities related to climate change adaptation
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Fluency in English
