About the subject (EIA)

Environmental assessment (EA) is the assessment of the environmental consequences & impacts of a plan, policy, program, or proposed projects prior to the decision to move forward with the proposed action. In this context, the term "environmental impact assessment"(EIA) is usually used when applied to projects by individuals or companies.

EIA studies are compulsory for putting up any new project or expansion of any new project. After reviewing and evaluating the EIA report, Ministry of Environment & Forest (Govt of India) gives clearance for large projects and State pollution board gives a clearance for small category projects,. The EIA studies, if done in a proper way, help the organisation to identify all the significant impacts in construction as well as operational phase and decide on the mitigation measures before hand

             Here, we are conducting a one day workshop on EIA covering the basics of EIA and the details of latest notification on EIA by Govt. of India in September 2006 as modified in December 2009.

Course benefits

This EIA Workshop is an interactive programme. It gives participants a detailed understanding of key features of EIA Study. How EIA study helps to eliminate or control the Environmental damage in the process of development, considering both design and operational aspects of the project. 10. Identifying potential significant impacts in your project and related mitigation measures.
11. Effectively conduct EIA studies of your proposed project and ensure Environmental clearance. .

About the Faculty

Shri Ramdas A.Wani is Master’s in Chemical Engineering from IIT Mumbai and Retired G.M. from IPCL (now RIL). He is working on environmental related projects for last 10 years.  He is a NABET approved Environmental expert for Risk and Hazard (RH) & solid and Hazardous waste Management (SHW). He is also an approved Env. Coordinator (EC) for five sectors.

• Large construction Projects (38) and
• Area development projects (39).

He has got an experience in various fields including management consultancy and training. He is a lead Auditor in Environment and safety management systems. He is also a BEE certified Energy Auditor. He has conducted more than 80 training programs including overseas assignments.
