Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli is one among the state universities recognized by University Grants Commission for receiving grants as per section 12B of UGC Act. It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. University is reaccredited with 'A' grade by NAAC recently. The university main campus (Palkalaiperur Campus) is located at 16 Kms away from Tiruchirapalli Junction on Tiruchirappalli - Pudukkottai National highway (www.bdu.ac.in). Department of Environmental Management (DEM), since its inception in 2005 has made rapid strides frontier domains of environmental science, technology and management.
Admissions open for Masters Program in Environment, Health and Safety Management offered by the Department focuses on advanced management strategies of corporate and regional/global environmental problems. The core idea of the program is to instill evolving concepts of environmental sustainability such as Environmental management systems (ISO 14000), Life cycle assessment of products, Environmental health and safety, OSHAS 18000, Eco-efficiency, Sustainable production and Environmental strategies for sustainable business with emphasis on hands on research and training in these aspects.
