I am working as a Botany(since 1989) & Biotechnology lecturer in S.K.B.R.College, Amalapuram, E.G.Dt., Ap, India. I did M.Phil on Phytoremediation (1995) & Ph.D on biodiversity conservation under JFM programme, sponsored by SPWD , DOEN, MOEF projects. I submitted my Ph.D under the guidance of Prof. K.Kameswara rao, Dept. of Environmental sciences, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
I also worked with Prof. Madhav Gadgil'as team IISc & Prof. N.Ravindranath, CSE, IISc Bangalore. we are also concentrating on mangrove vgetation in our area which is highly depleted for fire wood which leads to cyclones & Tsunamis etc. We are trying to educate the fishermen community over there. every year we are taking our degree students to see the rich mangrove vegetation. We have about 29 genera in this are.
Currently I am also working as a director for PG courses, dept. Of M.Sc. Biotechnology, in our college.
My Green Mission
With my students I work with farmers who need information regarding pesticidal etc pollution. we are also concentrating on proper usage of drinking water by villagers, sanitation, forcing them to avoid open toilets etc.
