For quick reference, we have compiled state wise seasonal min/max mixing height data, which is now available on our website (http://envitrans.com/mixing-height-data-india.php)

We hope this would be helpful information for the air dispersion modelers.

Can air dispersion models be linked to air pollution levels? Then seasonal predictions of level of pollution and direction could be mitigated with the help of shelter belts and wind breaks. Landscape architects also specialise in the design of shelter belts and wind breaks.

I am really interested in calculating the mixing height of the localized region.

Kindly suggest easy method for calculating the mixing height and ventilation coefficient.

Thanking you

For localized mixing height and ventilation coefficient, please refer maps in "Atlas of Hourly Mixing Height and Associative Capacity of Atmosphere in India", published in 2008 by India Meteorological Department, New Delhi. The data compiled in the publication is based on the upper air temperature data collected at 31 station (radiosonde) by IMD during 1990-1999.

Air dispersion models are tool to predict ambient air pollution level as a function of wind speed and atmospheric stability. In fact, high wind speed is good for dispersion, therefore wind breaks are not always a good idea. However, it depends on project specific source/receptor setup.

Thank you ma'am, will order the atlas from IMD.

Is there any easy method to calculate the same or to suggest any software.

Wind breaks would be located to minimise dispersion on or towards habitats. and deviate and direct polluted air stream to less dense and therefore greater dispersion

I wish to order Mixing height Data Atlas published by IMD. But whom to contact and where to order the IMD mixing height chart.

I also wish to know if there is any method or formulea for calculating mixing height based on whether Data ?

You may contact IMD, Pune for the publication.

There are several research papers on mixing height calculation using empirical equations, find below links of some, hope you find useful -
