Can anyone in this forum help me with the process to be followed with SPCBs for getting the company name changed on the authorization granted by them. For example if any entity has obtained an authorization from the respective SPCB/PCC and the entity name changes (due to merger or any other reason), then can the company continue to use the authorization issued in its old name or it needs to get the name updated. What is the process for getting the information updated? Can the change be made to the existing authorization or would the entity need to submit a fresh application? Lastly, is this process same for all States or one would need to check with each State?

You can change the name by sending appropriate document for the same.The reason may be cited in the application

SPCB issue authorization/consent to the industry which is site specific & process specific....
If the process and premises is same then you have to give request letter to SPCB for change of name with supporting documents(eg. sale deed, deed of partnership, reg under companies act,...)
You can apply to SPCB to get the name changed in the authorization however, the products should remain same. If there are any changes in product mix, waste water characteristics or waste generation nthen you can obtain a fresh consent. Approach SPCB for the procedure.
Why the Name was changed? Because of change of owners/Directors.Consent application is normally made incorporating the list of directors/partners and on the company Name.Inmy view any changes better to seek fresh consent incorporating all changes.At worst time the board will prosecute/issue showcause notice to all the directors what is provide in the applicaton.If it is not updated ,then the individuals has to prove through court to get the relief if they are prosecuted.SPCB usually go by recors only.
