The School of Human Ecology (SHE) is engaged with the pressing issues of development and environment addressed through a diverse, interdisciplinary programme.

Job description:
Objectives of the present project are: to estimate the spatial and temporal characteristics of built-up area change at two different levels; the national capital territory (NCT) level and NCR level; to measure and quantify dispersion of urban expansion (or urban sprawl); to study the driving forces and factors affecting urban expansion and to formulate a future view of urban expansion
The RA will undertake literature review, data mining from secondary sources, field work in Delhi and NCR regions for data collection, interactions with government, non-government and other stakeholders, analysis of land use change through remote sensing, ground truthing using GPS device, data tabulation and analysis, mapping, and report writing.
